Collaboration with WorldFriends Kenya NPO

Nairobi, Kenya

Supporting access to essential healthcare for Nairobi’s most vulnerable populations, in partnership with WorldFriends Kenya NPO and the Ruaraka Uhai Neema Hospital (RUNH).

Collaboration with WorldFriends

WorldFriends Kenya NPO, through the Ruaraka Uhai Neema Hospital (RUNH), is dedicated to improving access to essential maternal and child health services for Nairobi's indigent populations. RUNH, founded by WorldFriends, focuses its efforts on the slums of Kariobangi, Korogocho, Baba Dogo, and Huruma, serving over 90,000 patients annually. Beyond hospital care, their outreach extends through peripheral health centers, medical camps, and mobile clinics, bringing healthcare directly to those in need.

The Gianni Gromo Foundation is proud to support World Friends and RUNH in several impactful projects. Thanks to our close collaboration with Dr. Gianfranco Morino, co-founder of the NGO, we have contributed to the hospital’s mission by funding essential medical equipment and specialized training. In 2022, we financed the purchase of an anesthesia machine for the pediatric orthopedic operating room, ensuring safer surgeries for children. Additionally, in 2023 we supported the training of a specialist to operate one of the few MRI machines in Kenya, a vital tool in diagnostics and treatment for the underserved population. Further adhoc projects will surely follow.

Through this partnership, we continue to help World Friends Kenya advance healthcare for Nairobi’s most vulnerable, ensuring that critical medical resources and expertise are available where they are needed most.
